Overview
Anya Vision is an AI-powered assistive technology platform designed to help individuals with glaucoma, macular degeneration, and other low vision conditions navigate daily life with greater independence and confidence.
The name "Anya" means "eye" in Igbo, reflecting my Nigerian heritage and the platform's mission to serve as an intelligent visual companion for those whose sight has been compromised.
The Problem
Over 12 million Americans live with low vision. Existing assistive technologies—white canes, screen readers, magnification apps—fail to address the full spectrum of daily challenges:

Why This Matters to Me
As someone personally affected by glaucoma—a progressive condition that causes irreversible vision loss—I'm building the technology I wish existed for myself.
Watching my own peripheral vision narrow over time, I recognized that millions of people with low vision conditions lack adequate assistive technology. Anya Vision isn't about "fixing" disability—it's about augmenting human capability with dignity.
Current Status
The working MVP demonstrates the complete user authentication flow, onboarding experience, dashboard interface, and settings. Currently pursuing partnership with NECO Center for Eye Care for a 25-50 user clinical pilot.
